The Godin Guitar Company started building guitars over twenty years ago, in a village in Quebec Canada called La Patrie. The man that started it all is Robert Godin. Robert still owns the company and he continues to design the vast majority of their guitars. Godin are a Canadian company with their head office located in Montreal and build their guitars in four different locations - three in Quebec and one in New Hampshire, USA. From the beginning the company has been more or less divided between the acoustic side and electric side. They are also known for acoustic guitars which include the Seagull, Simon & Patrick, LaPatrie and Art & Lutherie brands. The electric side of the business was originally that of a parts supplier to other guitar companies. You'd be surprised to know who Godin supplied parts to... but we won't be divulging any secrets! Let's just say that all that experience led to Godin being able to create some of the best value, Canadian/USA made guitars available anywhere. It might interest you to know that Godin are also the biggest manufacturer of guitars in North America, bar none. |

The idea of the Seagull guitar was to place the emphasis on the creation of a quality musical instrument. In other words, how does the guitar stack up against other high quality instruments from the standpoint of sound and feel - not necessarily, how decorative it is. We also decided that we would do everything we could to keep the price of a Seagull down. We didn't advertise, we didn't produce brochures, we didn't stock guitars - we built orders. We also decided to look after our own distribution in North America, which also helps keep the price down.

VHT is a name with a history of quality. First introduced to the world almost 20 years ago, VHT has become synonymous with excellent tone and boutique style. When we began to add more variety to the VHT sound palette, we knew that people wouldn't be satisfied with standard run-of-the-mill designs or mediocre quality. We wanted to create amplifiers that were truly capable of enhancing players' creativity by offering versatile, expressive products that are useful and great sounding for any style of music. We did our initial R & D by researching classic American tube amplifier designs, from companies like K&F, Fender, Gibson, and Magnatone and then went on to explore some of the classic designs by Vox, Hiwatt and Marshall. Inspired by some of the most historic and sought-after amp tones on the planet, the VHT engineering team worked tirelessly to design and assemble what we believe to be some of the best tube amplifiers available. |
